Kitchen Envy - Part 2

This morning when i was looking around on my computer i found another folder of blog love that i'd forgotten about, so heres some more shots of kitchens that i just adore. Most have come from other blogs. Im sorry i didn't keep a track of any of the websites they came from, but just have a look and enjoy the prettiness.

Love those big old fashioned white sinks, would like one similar in a laundry someday.

Who doesn't love a good island.

Love the chairs of course, actually think i like the stool version of them more.

Gotta love some awesome shelving to display all the pretty kitchen wares. I also can't resist a ladder. If you had kids you'd probably need one of those ladder guards they have on ladders at Ikea.

Love the island with the shelves under it, tho would have one side clear to pop your legs under.

Ahh its all about shelves today isn't it.

Ohhh smeg....

Another awesome ladder, and overall just stunning cabinet design.

I love this because it is a very similar era to the kitchen in our old apartment and it shows what you can do with a 70's or older kitchen without ripping it out.
Its just so cute.

Gorgeous light, gorgeous floor, don't love the table and chairs but do love it when people have a combination of benches and chairs at their table.

A double over and stove top! If only i could be that lucky hehe. Love the detail they put on the air vent above and the beautiful combination of the black & the white, without making it look stark.
 The beams say it all.
It love this, but all my mind can think about is, what about the mosies?!
Love the chalkboard of course. I painted my closet doors at my parents house with chalkboard when i was younger. Also particularly love the details on the wood work. Just look at those pantry doors to the right.

Well i am certainly envious enough for one day, how about you?

Of course i give full credit to the amazing and lucky people who own/take photos of these kitchens.

Kitchen Envy

On my computer i keep a folder called "Blog Love" and i thought i'd share some kitchen pictures that have ended up in there. Mind you i've only had this folder for a couple of months.

I did not write down where the images are from so you'll have to excuse the lack of links and information.

But do know that i don't own any of these pictures, they belong to other, very talented/lucky, people.

I think the glass splash-back is a wonderful way to make the room feel bigger, tho i would be worried about it staying clean and it reflecting all the mess.

I love the pantry door in this kitchen, so cute.

This kitchen is from John & Sherry @ Young House Love

Love the mix of wood & white, tho probably would have gone with a lighter countertop with the wood.

This is from John & Sherry @ Young House Love.
Love this way of storing items in these gorgeous glass jars, i have a couple already that i use for storing hair accessories. One day when i have more display space in a kitchen i would like to do this with more items.

 Adore. Adore. Adore.

Love the combination of granite & wood countertops.

I am just dying for those cute little tea & milkshake cups, found at Ikea.

Don't love the overall design of this room, but i love the layout, how the room has just the kitchen and the table and not the lounge room. Also how beautiful those windows are, pity they are hidden behind those huge curtains.

Just too cute to handle. The inside of the pantry has paneling in it too!

One day i hope to have some version of all of these kitchens, but for now having one that is functional is the most important thing.

Kitchen

So this is my kitchen.
Believe it or not it is about 4 times bigger that my kitchen at our old apartment.
Our kitchen window looks out to...a wall, but its ok because we have a sky light.

There used to be cupboard doors on the pantry to the right, but they just got in the way.
We have a lazy susan that lives on top of the microwave that holds all our spices, and oil etc.
The addition of the island type bench in the middle of the room has made all the difference to the functionality of the kitchen, we used to have a table & chairs in the kitchen. First of all it took up too much space & it was also too low to comfortable chop at.
Previously we have also had furniture on the wall to the right above, but it feels a lot more airy & open, and it is easy to move around without something there.

So that my kitchen, for now :)

It ain't no Kitchen Aid...

I am the same as most people in that if you asked them which type of kitchen mixer they would want they would answer...Kitchen Aid.
Not necessarily in this colour.

But alas i have neither the funds, or the space really, Kitchen Aids retailing at about $800.
So i got this little beauty for $18!!!

It has a removable top, so it can be used as a handheld mixer and is quiet compact in size.
I got it from Woolworth's at Chadstone (i think it was the last one tho)

It ain't no Kitchen Aid...but it will do the job :)

P.S. Did i mention it comes with dough hooks as well as beaters!
Picture of kitchen aid from here... Picture of Presto mixer taken by me.

Provincial

Every year for my niece's & nephew's birthday i give them a voucher.
The voucher consists of $20 spending money, shopping, lunch & a movie with Aunty Hayley.
They love that they get to spend the day with me, and that they can do it by themselves (as they are always with their siblings).
Today i took my 10 year old nephew Michael, who so kindly told me that i could look in shops too as the day wasn't all about him it was about spending time together. Awwww.

So after all his shopping, lunch and the movie i took him with me into one of my favorite stores... Provincial. Which i just happen to have a $100 gift voucher for.

After much umming & aaring on my part, Michael told me i should buy the plates, and so i listened.
Unfortunately for me they were half price last week and this week they are back to full price :(

Seeing as during our time in the shop i had dropped something and almost broken something else, Michael insisted on caring the 6 heavy plates himself, all the way back the car, and he did a great job.
Look here they are safe & sound at home...

I also picked up this...
Which tells you how much spaghetti to make depending on how many people you have just by sticking the spaghetti through the appropriate holes.

Now the decision is where to put my pretty plates!

p.s. i was not paid by Provincial to talk about them, i just like their store.

The cutest little kitchen dresser...

Yesterday i was kindly offered this cute little dresser by Heather Nette King, of which was featured in The Age Sunday M Magazine earlier this year.
You can't see it in this picture but the bottom of the dresser is a cupboard with shutter doors, now filled with boardgames and boxes full of received birthday cards, wrapping paper and the like.
It is currently sitting outside L & I's bedroom next to my previously refurbished wardrobe.
Thanks to Buzzy (Heather) and family for the donation! xoxo
