Lovely Linen

Here are some of my newest cushions. I also had some newspaper print cushions but i sold both of them the first time i took them out!
What i love about both these patterns is that they are fun! Still grown up, in stylist modern colours, but a bit fun and playful. I also love the thick linen fabric that makes it feels so sturdy. Would love to cover a chair in either of these fabrics.

Photos were taken in my back yard, who knew my inhabitable bungalow could look so good! The cushions are sitting on the end of a desk which used to be in our old kitchen, of which L chopped the end off to make it fit at our current house, but i like it!

A Corner of Paris & Evan...

The other day L and i discovered that we could not use our wall electric heater with our furniture where it was, and with winter on the way it was time for some re-arranging and from this came quiet a wonderful new look for our lounge room. I loving this little section of the room at the moment and keep dragging my eyes away from the tv to look at its cuteness. Chair: Found in council collection - it has been sitting in the bungalow for a while now as it needs recovering. Cover: Doona cover from Op Shop $7 Cushion: Made by me! See earlier post. Table: Op Shop $40 Eiffel Tower: Christmas present from L Stuff on table: See previous post. And what you can't see in this picture which i also love about it is that to the right is our shop manican named Evan, sporting jeans, and a suit jacket, with a lamp stuck in the top of him so at night his lamp shade head and chest glow. Oh Evan.

Kitchen & Kitch

You may have seen in an earlier post my black lockers in this spot in my kitchen, tho i loved the lockers they did not provide enough storage or display space so i swapped them with these shelves from my office room. At some point i will probably paint them but for the moment they are a great place to store & display cute candy coloured kitchen accessories.

Memories in a frame not in a box...Travel

I have been on many trips in my life and i love to save bits and pieces of travel paraphernalia. But for the past however many years it has lived in boxes. I thought what is the point in keep all these memories if i never look at them... Frames: Ikea Inserts: The world!

Birthday Present

It was recently one of my neice's 11th birthday. This is what i got/made for her... And i wrapped in a box, instead of just putting it in a card. The box was originally a box of chocolates i got for Christmas (i save boxes) that i wrapped in double sided Ikea wrapping paper (the stripes and polka dots are the same paper just different sides) so make it look more...substantial. She loved it and we are going to use her "Voucher" tomorrow. Great idea for girls of that age, because they love being grown up and going shopping with their cool 20' something aunty.

WARDROBE

Okay, i changed my mind... i love Salvos Op Shops! Accidentally went Op Shopping on New Years eve. I went to a supermarket in Oakleigh to get this special type of Alcohol & parked in front of the Salvo's shop. Just thought id pop in a have a look and what do i get.... A wardrobe!! (Our bedroom doesn't have any wardrobes, so i use those plastic storage draws.) $65 (reduced from $95) I picked it up yesterday and painted it Cream (3 coats on Clotted Cream interior paint) and it looks amazing! On top you'll also see another Op Shop purchase for that day, old Enid Blighton books. The inside of the wardrobe: Left hand side - has a back to front hanging pole (it originally had a 'new' shelf in about 2/3's of the way off but i took it out) Right hand side - has three shelves, and under the 3rd shelf it has a pull out sort of pant rack, three wooden rods that you hang your pants over, i have hung skirts on this. I will post my other Op Shops finds (Two frames) in their display, soon.

Home

KITCHEN I needed something to store my "Kitchen" pretty things in, this set of lockers was originally in our bedroom but didn't work, so i put it here as a temporary storage solution but now i actually like it. Items: (left to right) Lockers - Ebay $104 Wicker Hearts - Op Shop - A couple of dollars Party bucket - Santas present to Housemate Terry Cake Stand - Future Mother-in-Laws unwanted Xmas gift Sippy Cup - Says my name Pink & White stripped Bowl & Cup - Christmas present from Buzzy and family. Glass jars - Old sauce jars filled with JellyBellys Big Pink Mug - Xmas present from L, from Kmart, hot chocolate set Jade Green Bowls - $4 from Opshop Jade Green Bowls & Wicker Hearts (Came tied with red ribbon, but i always keep any ribbon i get ei on present, and used my stash of ribbon to hang the other hearts. The middle heart came with ribbon tied on) Just got these yesterday from the Vinnies in Oakleigh. Vinnies have the best stuff, my other favorite Vinnies is in Edithvale. Vinnies are the best as far as 'chain' op shops go (they actually look like op shops), Salvos try to look like stores and i am told that they move their stock around stores. Where as with Vinnies, going to Vinnies in a certain area will affect the type of stuff you will find, ei go to a Vinnies in a nice area :) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TABLE in LOUNGE ROOM White Table - Ikea around $25 Glass Candle Stick Holders - Op Shop Candles - Kmart Hat Box - Op Shop HOME letters - Supply & Demand in Armadale, $3 each letter Gold Frame - Bought as a set of four french provincial painting (see below) at a fate in Ocean Grove, for $5. As you can tell the frames did not suit the pictures at all.
HALLWAY I have re framed the gorgeous pictures, which are painting onto the backboard of the gold frames, and slightly damaged, but that adds to the charm, in $20 frames from IKEA.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KITCHEN TABLE Op shop - $8 Fiance is not a fan, but oh well :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPARE ROOM Chair - Found in Council Hard Rubbish collection, so free :) Hope to re-cover one day. My cats - Ollie (Ginger) and Lando (Black) Thats all for now. Will post some of my Christmasy homewares soon. Miss Hayley

Vintage Chairs

I found these chairs while "Junking" (Council Hard Rubbish Collection) and have sold them on Ebay for $200 :) They are Danish designed teak 1960's Australian made chairs. Very gorgeous, but i have no need for them at the moment, but i do have a need for $200.

Dressing Table

My beautiful dressing table that i bought from the Salvation Army shop for $400!! Please excuse my messy room in the 2nd picture, i have had to do some moving around to get the dresser to fit, not quiet cleaned up yet.
